The original Andre Derain crouching man sculpture was sculpted in 1906 and remains one of Derains and the cubist movements most famous sculptures. Better known for his paintings, this cubist sculpture is thought to be a major influence on the works of Brancusi who’s most famous sculpture the Kiss followed in 1907. This reproduction was sculpted by Julie Taylor and looks equally good in the garden or as a superb artistic addition to any interior space.

The original Kiss sculpture was sculpted in 1907 by Constantin Brancusi. Brancusi was a Romanian Artist who began his sculpting career as a woodcarver before experimenting with ceramic and finally discovering stone as he preferred medium. A fore runner of the modern art movement to be later known as cubism he sculpted various different versions of the Kiss, the inspiration for which was said to have come from Auguste Rodin. Our superb reproduction has been carved and cast by Julie Taylor.
